WS-NOC 22.12

Overview

The Nokia WaveSuite - Network Operations Center(WS-NOC) centralizes and consolidates the management of optical networks. WS-NOC is an integral part of any optical networking solution, whether stand alone or integrated with the Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) SDN solution, or a third party SDN solution, or with other OSSs.

WS-NOC centralizes multiple network management and operations functions in one unified platform for the Nokia Optical portfolio. It allows network planning and operations staff to plan, deploy, and manage the network over the total life cycle. WS-NOC has REST APIs for software developers to integrate with, see  WS-NOC REST API Documentation  for details.

WS-NOC application can be integrated with other standalone or web applications using REST APIs. The REST APIs provide an interface to interact with WS-NOC application through URI path. To use a REST API, REST client application makes an HTTP(s) Request and parses the Response. The methods used are standard HTTP(s) methods like GET, PUT, POST and DELETE.

All the OTN, ASON, Network Element, Alarm, PM and Ethernet Management services are available as RESTful APIs.

Architecture Diagram

The Nokia WS-NOC architecture consists of a suite of modular components, with each component specialized in a well-defined task or over a specific network technology. At the Network management layer, WS-NOC performs Connection management using the control plane or managed plane, Layer 2 Transport management, Fault management, and Performance management. At the Element management layer, WS-NOC support Node and Equipment management, Software management, Alarm/PM data collectors, and protocol adapters. All applications and components are integrated under a Graphical User Interface (GUI).
