To associate dynamic residential subscriber hosts on SAPs with subscriber instances on NEs. Hosts that use the same subscriber identification policy belong to the same subscriber and receive common general HQoS and accounting treatment as defined by the specifications of a customer SLA.

A subscriber identification policy contains URLs that point to scripts that an NE uses to parse DHCP ACK messages. It also contains a subscriber profile map and an SLA profile map for direct assignment of a profile to a host when a profile identifier is passed using Option 82.
