For the use of existing NFM-P policy definitions and the support for customization of policy parameters through the use of override values.

An SLA profile defines the QoS characteristics for a set of residential subscriber hosts that receive a particular service offering. An SLA profile uses existing NFM-P policy definitions and allows the customization of policy parameters through the use of override values. A single SLA profile may define the QoS parameters for multiple subscriber hosts. Different types and grades of service offerings require different SLA profiles.
