Package mplstp
The XML API OSS interface uses the mplstp package for the:
- configuration of Multiprotocol Label Switching Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) paths and Label
Switched Paths (LSPs) on managed routers
- provisioning of MPLS-TP paths and LSPs on managed and unmanaged routers
MPLS-TP is a common set of MPLS functions that enables the use of MPLS in transport networks and
applications. MPLS-TP LSPs and paths can be configured at LER routers while MPLS-TP transit paths can be
configured at LSR routers. This combination of configurations will result in creating an end to end
bidirectional MPLS-TP LSP.
Services are transported across a network using service tunnels, which can use MPLS-TP
as the underlying transport mechanism. For networks that use MPLS-TP, a birdirectional
MPLS-TP LSP is created before MPLS-TP LSPs are associated with the
service tunnels. MPLS-TP pseudowires can be created and bound to service tunnels that use MPLS-TP LSPs.
Standard OAM tests such as LSP Ping, LSP trace support MPLS-TP LSPs.
