Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a neighbor discovery protocol that defines a mechanism for
network access devices using Ethernet connectivity to advertise information about them to peer devices
on the same physical LAN and store information they discover from the other device. NFM-P uses this information
to produce an accurate representation of the physical topology of the network.
