Package ldp
The XML API OSS interface uses the ldp package to distribute labels. Routers
can establish LSPs across a network by mapping network-layer routing information
directly to the data link layer-switched paths. After the LDP protocol distributes the
labels to the label switched routers (LSRs), the LSR assigns the label to a forwarding
equivalency class (FEC), and then lets all other LSRs in the path know about the
label and how the label will switch data accordingly.
The LDP sessions between LSRs:
- find and establish LDP peers in the managed network
- exchange label mappings on each LSR
- exchange label bindings
