Package ethernetoam
The XML API OSS interface uses the ethernetoam package to support Continuous Continuity Check, Loopback and Link Trace tests for 802_1ag CFM.
A Continuous Continuity (CC) Test groups a set of MEP object under the same Maintenance Domain and
Maintenance Association. MEPs can be configured on SAPs or Bindings. When the 802.1ag protocol is
enabled on the MEPs, they will exchange ethernet OAM packets. Each MEP listens to hear from the
neighbouring MEPs on the remote Mep list. If a single MEP misses the periodic update from a
neighbour within the same Association, an alarm will be raised indicating a missing 802.1ag update
for this particular node. A CcTest may be configured for a particular service. The user may select
a service to use in the test. If the user selects auto-generation, then MEPs will be configured for
all SAPs or bindings within the service.
The Loopback test can be used to verify MEP-MEP connectivity in the network.
The LinkTrace test is similar, but may have more than one response back from intermediate points along
the way to the destination MEP. A single SAP or binding may have more that one MEP configured if
different MEPs are configured within different Maintenance Domain levels.
Each Maintenance Association is associated with one Maintenance Domain. All MEPs configured with
the same unique network-wide combination of Maintenance Domain Id and Maintenance Association Id will exchange
the 802.1ag protocol packets.
The Ethernet Connectivity Fault Management One or Two Way Synthetic Loss Measurement tests contains the configuration
for generating Synthetic Loss Measurement Tests for a particular MEP.
